Description

The motor housing, as the component with the largest weight proportion in the electric vehicle drivetrain system, requires a design that ensures strength while also pursuing light weighting. Currently, aluminum alloy die-cast housings typically achieve wall thicknesses in the range of 3.3 to 4 mm. Considering the primary load-bearing role of critical areas such as bearings in the gearbox, the wall thickness of the bearing seat must be designed to reach 6 to 8 mm. Meanwhile, the wall thickness of other areas, such as bolts and bosses, must be determined based on bolt specifications. Wall thickness analysis is a critical aspect of the housing's process design.
